An Afternoon Talk based on The Great Search

  • Brenau University, Gainesville, GA 500 Washington Street Southeast Gainesville, GA, 30501 United States (map)

In which the internationally renowned spiritual teacher John Philip Newell outlines the main themes of his ground-breaking book The Great Search: Turning to Earth & Soul in the Quest for Healing & Home. In this time of transition in which so many of us are longing for a spirituality of intimacy with Earth rather than a spirituality of alienation from Earth, and a vision of interrelatedness and harmony instead of religious and political division, John Philip points to a path of healing and transformation for us, both individually and together. Cami Twilling, Director of Earth & Soul, will lead us in a time of the spiritual practice of listening within and reflection following the talk.

John Philip Newell is a ‘wandering teacher’ from Scotland in the ancient Celtic tradition. He describes himself as ‘a son of the Christian household, seeking to be in relationship with the wisdom of humanity’s other great spiritual traditions.’ Cami Twilling is the director of Earth & Soul, a Celtic initiative of study, spiritual practice, and compassionate action based in Colorado. Their much-loved combination of teaching and spiritual practice offers great hope for healing and transformation in our lives, both individually and together.
